Membership Benefits & Information

The Institute for Business & Home Safety’s mission is to reduce the social and economic effects of natural disasters and other property losses by conducting research and advocating improved construction, maintenance and preparation practices.

  • Benefits of Membership - All insurers licensed or qualified to write property or casualty insurance in any of the United States and all reinsurers licensed to reinsure those risks are eligible for membership in IBHS.

  • IBHS Member Companies - The members of IBHS are committed to making homes and businesses safer from natural disasters. We invite all U.S. insurers and all reinsurers of U.S. risks to become members.

  • Benefits of Associate Membership - Become an IBHS Associate Member. Associate Members receive IBHS mailings and products - either at no charge or at significantly reduced prices - and may be eligible for participation on IBHS Committees.

  • IBHS Associate Members - The Associate Members of IBHS are publicly expressing their support for IBHS's mission. We invite you to join these organizations and individuals who, working cooperatively, will help to develop a safer future for all.

  • IBHS Bylaws (Adobe PDF) - The applicant has read the IBHS Bylaws and agrees to be bound by them.
